It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
Happy Halloween! Fall is my favorite season. There are so many good books to read this time of year. It’s still warm during the day in my part of the world, but at least the nights are chilly. For readers in cooler climates, I hope you are keeping warm with a good book and a cup of your favorite beverage.
I am currently reading:
The Dead Kid Detective Agency by Evan Munday – I believe this is targeted to a younger audience than other young adult books I have read. It’s cute and probably would appeal to the tween set.
Light from a Distant Star by Mary McGarry Morris – I started reading this over the last few days. I am trying to move beyond the fact that a pit bull attacks a child and is killed violently in the second chapter of the book… but I cannot guarantee that I will forget (or forgive). I understand the tone of the book and the intent of this portion of the plot, but did it have to be a pit bull?
During the past week I finished reading:
Nothing!
Additional:
What is Halloween without some photos of the pack in their Halloween costumes?
We don’t dress up the cats because that would just be mean.
View all of our pack Halloween photos here. I might be biased, but I think there are some pretty cute ones in there!
Many thanks to everyone who has so generously donated to Clifford’s heartworm treatment. We truly appreciate your support.
Wow! All the pets look great in their Halloween outfits!
Happy Halloween!!

I haven’t heard of any of those books…They sound interesting though. Your furbabies are super cute in their Halloween costumes. Yeah for Pittie advocates! Have you read The Lost Dogs? It’s about the Michael Vick pitties…I read it and LOVED it. Made me rethink my postion on this breed.

I have read The Lost Dogs! It is a fantastic book. I am glad I read it, but I do not ever want to read it again because it made me cry quite a bit. So much sadness for those poor dogs.

Awwww, such cute dogs! I’m so jealous they let you dress them up, mine completely balk at the idea and knock all their costume pieces off before I can get anything on the other dog!

Crystal, there were a lot of necessary clothing adjustments during the photo shoot! Clifford also had a purple top hat to go with his orange tie, but he decided it was better to eat the hat than to wear it. 😛

The dogs are fabulous. Your books are all new to me but I don’t know if I could read the one about the pit-bull. Have a great week!!

It got even worse. A few chapters later there were fist pumps in response to a story about poisoning dogs. I’m intrigued at where it’s going, but I think I must abandon it on principle.

I don’t know if I’d be able to read past the dog attack in that book either! Your dogs look absolutely adorable, and probably a good idea not to dress the cats. My own cat would claw my eyes out if I put her in a costume!

Thanks, Audrey! I can’t honestly say that we have never put a lobster hat on a cat before…
